Cincinnati Breweries: The Ultimate Guide

Laura Williams

Breweries have been springing up left and right around the country since 2010. A craft beer craze is sweeping the country, and Cincinnati, Ohio, is one of the top towns to catch it.

C+R Research, based in Chicago, conducted a fascinating study on craft breweries, determining which cities in the United States have the most breweries per 50,000 residents.

Cincinnati was ranked among the top 25 cities, which should come as no surprise to locals.

Cincinnati has it all, whether you are looking for intimate mom-and-pop breweries or large-scale brewers that stage citywide events.

Alexandria Brewing Company, founded by Andy Reynolds, is located across the Ohio River in Alexandria, Kentucky. On their website, you may read about Andy’s choice to start the brewery:

Andy’s interest in brewing began while serving in the military when he created hard cider with apple juice and yeast. His passion for homebrewing led to the founding of Alexandria Brewing Company, but he had to put his goal on hold due to health difficulties. Andy had the good fortune to attend Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL, and graduate with advanced Brewing Theory. Andy was able to obtain a deeper understanding of the industry and study the ins and outs of the trade while working at Seibel. The outcome is this version of Alexandria Brewing Company.

The brewery boasts a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and a diverse selection of beers. This is a location that should be visited.
