Over 730 acres in size, the park features a paved track that winds around the 35-acre Sharon Lake, a fitness walk, a Gorge nature trail, and hundreds of picnic spots with shelters and volleyball courts.
Sharon Woods also features a boathouse where guests can rent pedal boats and paddle boats to take out on the lake, weather permitting.
There is also a golf course, a historic Heritage Village Museum, a two-story indoor play area for kids, and a wildlife gift shop in Sharon Woods.
Sharon Woods has something for everyone, whether you want to go hiking, have a private event, take your kids to a fun area to play, or spend the day on the lake.

Hiking Trails of Various Types
Walking or hiking is arguably the most popular reason for visiting Sharon Woods. Three different trails are available in the park:
Multi-purpose Lake Trail
A 2.6-mile paved trail that circles around the 35-acre Sharon Lake, providing magnificent sights of the lake as well as excellent bird-watching opportunities. Joggers, hikers, dog walkers, and cyclists all frequent this trail.
Fitness Trail
A 1.0-mile paved trail with multiple spots to stop and conduct exercises such as ab crunches, squats, and pull-ups.
Gorge Nature Trail
A 0.7-mile route with views of the gorge connecting Sharon Lake, many viewpoints overlooking the park’s watercourse, multiple wooden bridges, and good bird-watching opportunities. You only need to stroll for a few minutes on this trail before you’re entirely immersed in the forest and feel as if you’ve reached another world.
Lake Activities at a Boathouse
People come to Sharon Woods for various reasons, including the variety of trails and the opportunity to relax on Sharon Lake. The lake is 35 acres in size, so there’s plenty of room to explore. The boathouse on the lake’s coast rents out pedal boats and pontoon boats, as well as stand-up paddleboards for those looking for a little more excitement.
The lake is a great site to go bird watching, and it’s also one of the most relaxing areas in the park to spend an afternoon or evening.
A Golf Course
The Sharon Woods golf course, opened in 1938 by great golfer Bobby Jones, is the oldest of the Great Parks of Hamilton County’s seven courses.
The course features 18 holes of championship golf that will test even the most seasoned golfers. The course is dubbed the “Best Bang For The Buck” by the Cincinnati Enquirer, and Golf Digest offers it a four-star rating.
The course has something for everyone, with novice 6-hole leagues, private outings, instructional programs, family activities, and public contests.

Several Play Areas
Sharon Woods offers a variety of playgrounds and recreational places for families with small children to enjoy.
The Adventure Station, a two-story indoor play area for children ages 2 to 12, is one of the park’s most popular attractions.
The park also contains an outdoor play area with a playground, swings, and various water splash pads.
Volleyball Courts, Picnic Areas, and Shelters
People also come to Sharon Woods to organize a party, family gathering, or another event at one of the many picnic spots.
There are shelters with benches, volleyball courts, and open spaces ideal for hosting events of any kind throughout the park. The majority of these shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
