Pelican’s Reef

Pelican’s Reef is a seafood restaurant on Beechmont Avenue on Cincinnati’s east side that serves grilled fish tacos, fried shrimp and oysters, grilled salmon, grilled tuna, and mahi-mahi, as well as a selection of sandwiches and burgers. Pelican’s Reef is one of the best locations to eat seafood not just on the east side but throughout the city, thanks to its delicious food and courteous service.

Alabama Fish Bar

Alabama Fish Bar, a tiny seafood restaurant in Over-the-Rhine noted for its fish and fries, is located in the center of Over-The-Rhine. The cuisine is fantastic, and the service is swift, despite the fact that this area may get full and there isn’t a lot of standing room. The cod and fries are our favorite dish here, although anything on the menu is delicious.

McCormick & Schmick’s

McCormick & Schmick’s is another great place to go for seafood in Cincinnati. This is one of the city’s largest and most sophisticated seafood restaurants, and it’s noted for being extremely busy during dinner hours, particularly on weekends. Crab cakes and grilled shrimp are two of our favorite dishes.

Court Street Lobster Bar

Court Street Lobster Bar is another fantastic seafood restaurant in the Downtown area. Court Street prides itself on providing “east coast taste with Midwest hospitality,” and they succeed on both counts: the food is wonderful, and the service is nice. Court Street is a unique dining experience in a relaxed environment, housed in a long narrow structure. Their menu includes lobster rolls, crab rolls, and cod rolls, all of which go well with their mac ‘n cheese and roasted cauliflower on the side.

K&J Seafood

K&J Seafood is a seafood restaurant renowned for serving dishes in baskets. It is located near the University of Cincinnati campus. Among the seafood favorites on their menu are shrimp, crab, and corn on the cob. They also have delectable seafood fries, nothing more than a massive mixture of cheesy sauce, shrimp, crab, and bacon. Because this restaurant is so popular, it’s best to place your order ahead of time.

Chart House

Chart House is a seafood restaurant with a view, located just across the Ohio River in Newport, Kentucky. Chart House is known for its vast dining space with large windows that provide sweeping views of the Ohio River and the Cincinnati cityscape, making it one of the most unusual places in the city to have seafood. Mahi Mahi, Spiced Yellowfin, Clam Chowder, and even slow-roasted prime rib are just a few of the meals on their menu.

Honourable mention

Washington Platform

Washington Platform was a restaurant with a lot of character and history that served Queen City’s greatest seafood. It was housed in an ancient brick building built more than 150 years ago. In the heart of Downtown Cincinnati, Washington Platform was recognized for its warm environment and delicious seafood. The fact that they had many “carnivals” and “festivals” throughout the year where they serve specialized delicacies for two to three months at a time, such as a crab carnival, an oyster festival, and a “Lobstapalooza,” made this place truly unique.

Sadly they closed on January 1st, 2022.
